The Democrats have a message, if the have the courage to use it—we are FOR the people. We fight for freedom. We fight for affordable housing. We are for an equitable system for all. We are FOR things.
Stop telling people what you’re against, tell us and show us what you’re FOR.
About Democratic party messaging: yes, we can do better.
Yet it's not that we haven't tried and done a great job.
For clear, fact-based, unequivocal and unapologetic messaging there's nothing better than the Final Report of the Select Committee to investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capital.
The hearings were televised, the report is public.
The better question is: how do we manage our messaging in a time when the Republican Party and its mouthpieces (Fox News, Joe Rogan, etc) blatantly and without compunction lie, deny historical fact, and pour vitriol and hatred into the willing ears of (mostly) white men and the women in thrall to them?
I'd love to find an intelligent discussion of that question with people who don't point fingers or wring hands.
Thanks to Olivia and Katie: The democrats are for all kinds of good things. They are just too polite. They don't seem to brag enough about the great things that they past when Biden was president. Every time Trump does a EO he get media coverage while he opens up the document and gives that evil smirk. He knows how to play the media. I hope they get more proactive rather than reactive. My concern in the Big Bad Bill is the Attack on the judicial branch and it seems no one is talking about it. Trump already has immunity but he wants more.
Well, I am ( Gawd I can't believe I am going to admit this, but I am 71! ) haha argh , anyway, I do still read, but reading takes time, lots of time, so I have to choose carefully what I choose to read each day. But I am also a visual person, so I only remember when I see information. So I find your video's helpful because watching you and hearing you covers two learning curves. Yes i was a preschool teacher for 25 years.
but people are getting super fast info on IG which is good but not good because it's not always complete.
I watch and listen to yours and other people's video's in the late afternoon when I am relaxing, cooking and or having a glass of wine. ( BTW I was freaking out when i didn't see anything from you for what seemed like 2 weeks, I had forgotten you went on Vacation! I was so relieved when you returned.)
I have completely stopped watching the 2 channels I used to watch, CNN and MSNBC because I noticed that during the last year when Biden was running that CNN never reported any of the good things he had accomplished over the past 4 years, and suddenly was focused on making him look old and senile. It seemed it was their sole purpose of covering him. I felt betrayed. Then the firings at MSNBC happened and I was just done with corporate news.
We remain abused by this lawless administration and their goonish Brownshirts. Lead by a psychopathic neo-fascist, they are in chaos. This weekend we face the Big Beautiful Bill in Congress. Right now, we must let each of our representatives and senators know we stand strongly opposed to a vote for this bill (in any of its forms with the 2017 tax cut). Call them now. Let them know that you will not ever get over it if they vote for the bill. Why? Because Mitch McConnell said “They will get over it.” The audacity.
Such a good point Olivia….politicians need to speak to everyone the same way, like in actual life, in other words, just be your authentic self all the time. Also, I’m an old lady, but I love getting news from a video or a podcast, and admittedly some trusted accounts on Twitter. I love Aaron Parnas who tells us the news quickly and succinctly. If I want more details I can find it. I also won’t read a full article unless it’s something I find very interesting or if it’s something that affects me directly. Thank you both for all the work you do.
I like to read my news. The problem is there is no credible editorial control of Tic Tok or YouTube. No one takes responsibility for the accuracy of what’s posted on Tic Tok and YouTube.
I get my news from many sources. Right now Katie, you are my favorite! I listen to the Meidas Touch, The Buwark, Jim Acosta, Don Lemon and The Gist by Newsweek. I also read Heather Cox Richardson on Facebook. Oh, I also love how Aaron Parnas updates me several times a day with short videos.
Reading should be preferable, as you can always go back to reread to solidify your understanding. Purely auditory presentations are by definition ephemeral, fleeting. If you sneeze and miss an important bit, it's simply gone, as is your understanding.

I read Heather Cox Richardson to get a more balanced view of major issues.
Follow her religiously
I listen to her. I love her historical angle. Irepost to FB and

Joyce Carol Vance does pretty well with the Courts.
I also like her chickens. Can't have them here because Coyotes in spring and fall
The Democrats message should be “truth” and “equality”, everything the GOP is not.

Anway, that's one senior's view.
Thank you for what you do!
I still watch a few shows on MSNBC. Nicole, Rachel, Laurence. Sometimes Chris Hayes and Jen Psaki.
I do miss Nicole and Rachel, I thought Rachel left Msnbc?
Rachel still does her Monday show.
Me too. The old-guard corporate-owned news are just shills for the oligarchy.

Great idea Katie! What a duo you two!
Putin’s Apprentice never admits he is wrong.
I like to read it. Sometimes I do audio.
