Yes, it was a gross description because Trump is gross.
Mainstream media strikes out...once again.
So there are a lot of things wrong about this Daily Beast headline:
(1) I wasn’t “canceled.” My MSNBC show was canceled. Then I voluntarily left the network for independent media and to fight against Trump in all of the places that the battles are being waged.
(2) My description of Trump’s heinous commencement speech at West Point over Memorial Day weekend was not “particularly gross.” It was, in fact, ACCURATE and TRUTHFUL, unlike what you may have read or heard on mainstream media about Trump’s performance.
[I will give credit where credit is due, though: the Daily Beast must have spoken with my rescue dog, Lucky, when they called me a “star”. They clearly didn’t get that from my 10-year old daughter who, these days, selectively talks to me and even more selectively pays me compliments.]
Mainstream media is FAILING Americans. Why would any news outlet choose to focus on MY words versus those of the brain addled Trump?? The news is NOT how I described Trump in my YouTube video, which if you have not yet watched, you should watch here:
The real news is that the President of the United States was incoherent, unhinged, rambling, and disrespectful when addressing graduates of one of the finest military institutions in our country. And on Memorial Day weekend, no less. THAT was the news. NOT my choice of words, which by the way, remain unchallenged in their accuracy. I didn’t lie when I described Trump speaking as if he had “diarrhea of the mouth.” It’s his brand. He just opens his mouth and bad stuff spews out of it.
In my assessment of Trump’s speech, I was correct in the way that I described the trainwreck that is Trump. He has handlers around him that most certainly recognize that he is suffering from some sort of cognitive impairment and diminished mental acuity. They know it. But they’re allowing the crazy uncle to just permanently live outside of his closet.
The real problem here is mainstream media repeatedly fails to focus on the things that matter to Americans. Today, independent media is the only source of meaningful journalism. That’s why places like Substack and YouTube matter. And that’s why I have found new homes in those spaces. There is too much at stake to waste our valuable time and energy focusing on distractions and irrelevant things. We must elevate the voices of those that are pushing the truth out front and center and make them the North Stars for accurate reporting. We must support independent media and recognize its value in this incredibly dangerous and critical time.
I’ve said repeatedly that my currency is facts and evidence. That is driven in large part because of my training as a lawyer. The American public deserves facts and evidence, not clickbait and undisciplined reporting. Independent media is bringing that uncompromising pressure and heat on Trump, his administration, and his lackeys. We are unrelenting, focused, and determined to expose the truth.
Be mad. Be outraged. Demand accountability.
You are fantastic!
Good job Katie!
